Default EGR/AIR delete, how to?

I have a 2000 and am considering deleting the EGR/AIR when I get headers. Can someone that has done this tell me what parts i need, like EGR block off plates etc. If I do delete, i can buy headers for '01 and up cars correct? How does this affect the O2's? do I still need 2 sims?

just block off the holes left behind on the exhaust manifolds with block off plates and with a freeze plug on the intake. Then have the codes deleted with tuning software like LS1edit ,etc. You won't need 02 sims if you have the codes deleted.

I don't think the Hypertech will do that.

cancel the order on the hypertech, take the money and buy a mail-order tune from Speed Inc. $150 or TSP $250, then you can have the EGR and AIR SES lights turned off, and have the O2 deleted
also what kind of headers are you getting, shorties or LTs, get LTs, if you do get shorties tho, i think you can still use your cats ( i dont see why you would want too) in whichcase you wouldnt need O2 sims, oh and one last thing, no O2 sims for the front O2's, they regulate AFR

To late to cancel got it on Ebay. I'm sure i could resell it if it's not helpful. I will definitely be getting LT's. Prolly pacesetters. I am gonna put in high flow cats, dynomax bullets, H pipe with side exits. I know i can't use the sims for the front, will I need them for the rears? or just have the SES light deleted for them? If I delete all this will I have trouble getting inspection....Texas?

with our cars testing is through the computer, having sims or the codes deleted tricks the testing and you pass, no codes no problems clean emissions, unless you have a sniffer test, but i think the high flow cats will take care of the smell. should have no problems other than someone crawling under your car
