At least get a trans cooler to go with the converter. It will keep things cool with more stall. A shift kit is optional. I just got my trans r/b and did all three, conv, shift kit and cooler.

It depend's on you, You dont have to have a shift kit with a stall. It would help, But I've been running my stock tran's with this VIG for a while with no issues & numerous track passes each month.

well one your gonna haveta retune for the stall. two a shift kit will always help and firm the shifts prevent slippage. a tune will do similar but the tune is more for when the car shifts am i not correct? not how firm or direct they are. get the shift kit get the stall and get the cooler all at once! youll love it

If it shifts pretty firm now, then try the TC first and see what happens.
