Default 4L60E swap

What is thebest way to get the top bolts out of the housing?

Anyone have a link to some instructions?

Thanks
Kody

Also, how hard is it to replace the dipstick tube? That thing was a b!tch to get out and I think I may have damaged it a little too much.

The easiest way for me to get the top bolts out was to cut the exhaust or in some cases unbolt it at the y pipe. Get you a floor jack place it under the crank pulley jack it up slowly till you can see both the top bolts. It want need to go very far. Just make sure your air box is undone form the MAF if not you'll break it. BTW I used a 4ft extension with a wiggle tail adapter on the end. Hope this helps. Good Luck, Vann

What they said..... unbolt exhaust so engine and everything can sag. Drop trans cross member. With jack under the trans, lower until you can get to the top bolts. Also.....it is much easier to get the dipstick tube in before the trans is bolted back up.

Yep, loooooooong extensions, universal, a flashlight, let it hang down as much as possible like the others have said, and a bunch of cussing. On the reassembly I found that taking some electrical tape and taping the bolt to the socket so it wouldn't fall off worked wonders. Once you get the bolt tight you just pull and the tape will let go, worked good for me.
