Can you tell me what this is?
Hello everyone... I was changing the oil on my '98z28 and noticed that a large piece of black plastic that is attached near the front driver's side wheel....had ripped. It looks like some sort of dust or water shield?
It's flexible and easy to tear, almost like cardboard. Any idea what it is and do I need to get a new one?
Thanks!
This is the piece that's still attached, can you see the jagged edges on the left? That's where the pieces tore off. Near the boot.

i think it helps deflect air into the radiator/alternator and keep crap out from behind it. you can probably pick up a new one for cheap at a stealership.
my car was missing the panel under the AIR pump when i got it, picked up a new one, dont think it was very much.

you can get them to pull up a view of under the car, and point out which one it is. it's going to go in just like how the old one is. if you have a friend with an f-body, you can look at his and see how it goes on.
that hole in the ear that is broken off in the second pic attatches somewhere around the back of the alternator? i just pulled it off the other day when pulling my motor mounts but i cant quite remember how it goes. it just slides onto one of those plastic pointed clips.

I don't know if there were supposed to be any pics with all that, but I have a couple of those kind of plastic pieces that are under the front end, and I'm trying to sell all that. If you have any pics let me know. I may be able to hook you up pretty cheap.
