Midwestern Members - Ack getting a ton of snow in Chicago

Only got a few inches last nite but it's been snowing all day, looks like it might be bad out there.

I've got about 3-4" outside right now. The news was saying some places could get up to a foot.

Sure am glad i got my blizzacks on yesterday, before all this crap hit. Says we're in for about 10 inches of snow. :(

we have none at all, its been sleeting for hours now, i went to school for four hours and came out with more then 1/8th inch of ice all over my car. thank god it was the buick and not the camaro :)

sucks i was coming home at 3:30 am and could hardly see where i was going..really glad this WRX is killer in the snow or i would have had aproblem

Fortuanetly this weather had no impact on my morning commute

I've been out since abou 430am snowplowing. Just got home for a break and gonna head back out around 8 or so until probably thursday morn

Any word on Indiana? So far we have some sleet, but our school is starting back up tommarow which sux so i am hopeing for some sleet or anything

They said its going to come down hard at around 4pm, but it looks like it is already.

The next round of heavy stuff is supposed to hit chicago between 8pm-2am. I guess I better clear the driveway of today's stuff soon or it'll really be deep..... :nono:

We're enjoying an ice storm here in Central Indiana.

I hate getting a storm that lasts two days, it just seems so pointless to clean up when it just keeps coming...... :mad:

I used to think that, years ago before I had a huge driveway to clear every time it snows.

Man the side streets of Lincoln Park were really bad. Basically unplowed. I had a bear of a time getting our Acura FWD TL to Fullerton/ Ashland. I sure hope they plow the side streets before tonite.

all the side streets in roscoe village suck as well. it will be nice to get 'em plowed, but then you have to deal with a crapload of snow on the sides of the streets...

i really hate snow.

Looks like the snow is melting.

These two days storms are very unpleasant. Actually, they blow. Hopefully that will be the biggest storm for the season.

Seeing as how the snow is back on, this sucks.

LOL, yeah. And I guess my wish on 1/6/05 of THAT one being the biggest snow of the season probably won't come true now.

This storm is insane, i think we are going to get like 14-16 inches of snow. You should see how bad the side streets are over there.

I'll take a measurement later, but I'm thinking about 14" also. I have a good spot to measure that's protected from drifts so it's pretty accurate.....

We have a lovely 2 foot drift on our deck in front of the grill.

I think Chicago got dumped on worse, but we got hit pretty hard too. I left the Cobra in the driveway last night accidentally. :cry: It took my 30mins to move it 50ft into the garage. :nono:

Ok.... the official unscientific total snow measurement for this storm was 11” in Lincolnwood. I’m actually kinda shocked. I was expecting 12-14”, but the lake effect cut off about 3 hours before I though it would (not that I’m complaining! ;) ).

It might still have been more though, there were some pretty stiff winds that may have sheered an inch or so off my measurement plane…..gusts topping 40mph at times….
