How much does your car hauler weigh?
I am about to buy the towing package for my Expedition that will be used to tow my future car hauler. On the website I was going to purchase the towing stuff, 5000lbs was the most there biggest package handled without a weight distribution bar. My car weigh's roughly 3500. What do you think my tow and tongue weight capacities need to be? I need trailer brakes right?
The hauler will be open steel with wood decking.
Thanks

an expedition should be able to tow more than 5K lbs without stabilizer bars without a doubt. i have towed our 7K lbs enclosed 26' trailor with our 2003 Yukon without any issues at all. esp if it is flat where you are towing. just remember the weight ratings for a trailor are in GVWR - look to the axle ratings. most open trailors with wood floors are 1500-1800 lbs in that size range.
