Default Need Help, I had trouble with my 17X11

My buddy and I tried to make the 17X11 wheels fit but it just rubbed against the fender when I took off

How do I go about fixing this, just start hammering the fender ?????

Another issue is the bumpstop, we realized that if the rearend travels down, the bumpstop will catch the tire and probably puncture it ... how can you fix this without cutting off the bumptop (I might to back to stock one day) ?

Bumpstop - unless you are doing Dukes of Hazzard Jumps you are fine.

Inner wheel well mods are required with 315's and 17" x 11" wheels . . Been posted 100's of times . . . . .

BFH=big freakin hammer
Hammer in the wheel wells so they won't rub the insides of the tire. It will take off a lot of undercoating, but just go buy some "rubberized undercoating" from Wal-Mart and re-spray the fenderwells.

If the lip is rubbing the outside of the tire, you'll have to cut it and tuck it up into the fenderwell.

Trim the bumpstop a little.

Yep you will have to roll the fender lip up. I didn't do it on mine and I cut into my tires pretty good. I'm finally getting around to rolling them this weekend

Yeah, but not if you want to keep your paint from cracking. I'd use a baseball bat as the very last resort.

I cut three slits in the lip about three inches apart from each other and hammered them up in the fenderwell w/ a rubber mallet in three different sections. Worked nice w/ no problems.

I rolled mine using a...fender-roller... Expensive to rent (like $50), VERY expensive to buy (like $500). But they work great.

Are you lowered? Is it rubbing on one side only? If so, you probably need an adj panhard rod. When lowering the rear almost always shifts a little. Ditch the bumpstops.

They do work really well. I rolled my fenders today with the fender roller from eastwood and it did a great job. No paint cracking or anything. It didn't take much time either
