I'd try to get it for $18K, $19K tops. Non WS6 2002's are harder to find, but the dealer probably doesn't know that...

Pontiac made a little over 12,000 WS6 T/A's in 2002.

They made a little shy of 4,000 non WS6 T/A's in 2002.

Non WS6 cars are harder to find for the 2002 model year.

The m6 cars are easier to find as the years progressed. (ie. few m6 98's------many m6 02's). Our cars are worth nothing (sadly). The dealer wants to get rid of that thing. Don't spend anywhere near the original asking price. The "KBB" does not take into account demand, which is poor...so you should be able to get it for 18/19k if you can haggle.

pay under 20k, like said above, demand makes it not worth the 22k. the dealership here has had a few here recently, and started them all off at about 23k. they sat up there FOREVER. recently talked to the guy that bought the vert, SOM M6 WS6 that sat up there forever at 23,500. he had the papers showing he bought it for 18,750, i think plus TTL of course.

When I bought my 02 TA last year, the BB was 23,900. I paid 18,500 for it. I lucked out because that particular dealer wholesales anything that sits on their lot for 60 days. I walked in on day 59...

I'd try to talk them down. If they won't play ball, let it sit on their lot for awhile and see if they are more willing to deal. Of course, there is always the risk someone will come by and pay what the dealership is asking...

Yes, while it is true that there were more WS6's than regular TA's, and more M6's than autos, WS6 cars and M6 cars are harder to find, because they usually end up in the hands of enthusiasts (like us) who tend to hold on to them. When I was looking for my TA I did a search on Autotrader.com, and there was 1 M6 TA (98-02) within 300 miles of where I live. No WS6's. There were probably 5 or 6 autos, though.

go up there and tell them how much you want to pay, let them laugh at you, and give him your phone number "just in case", then wait for the call from them late next week. ive seen it go like that a few times. happened to me, but i had already bought another car by the time they called back.

You mean more A4's than M6's. And you are right about the enthusiasts grabbing up the jewels. That is why it was so hard to find the car I wanted.

I got my 01 ws6 for a little over 19 (id' hafta look up my papers for the exact number). i also looked at a 00 formula m6, hardtop and cloth, and he wanted 18. i saw an add for it in a local magazine for like 14, so they can be negotiated.

my car was one of like 4 ws6's around the city. 2 were m6's. the other was an 02 and that dealer wanted nearly 28 for it. i couldn't believe that crap (this was in august)
