Default Should I get Patriot Stage 2's or should I get my stock heads p&p'd?

I know that the PP Stage II's make nice power with a nice price....

I am also considering getting my stock heads done and port matched to my hoopty Lingenfelter intake (hopefully then the intake will be worth the $550 it cost and the heat sink) to save some $$$$.

Are there any other decent value-oriented head options that I shoud consider?

Thanks in advance!

Goals:
400+ RWHP NA
Able to work well with possible small N20 shot

Here's my possible setup...

Mods in sig +:

Hooker LT's + ORY
Dyno tune
Cam (not sure what direction I wanna go with the bumpstick yet, either. )

Oh, BTW, I'd like to be under $2000 installed. Probably wishful thinking, but oh, well.

Don't go with the Ling intake, if anything save a little more and buy a FAST 78. I saw a NIB one go for right at $500 recently in the for sale section. It may be a little more expensive if you have to buy new, but you won't ave to deal with heatsoak.

Yeah, but I already shelled out for the Lingenfelter, so I figure I can at least make a decent setup if I port match it to whatever heads I'm gonna get.

i would say go with bolt ons and a mild cam like the tsp 225 er something...i know a few people that have made 400rwhp cam only with cams around that size...you can always worry about heads later and this would be easier on the pocket.

The only problem is, I have been worrying about heads for too long- time to act.

you should have no problem reaching 400 with the PP. Jrp just did a write up camparing PP to the 5.3 heads the PP flowed less but keep in mind that the PP where not hand finished like the tea 5.3 heads. You could always go ahead and hand finish the PP your self it aint that hard just time consuming and that will improve flow a little, or you vcoudl just get some AFR heads it doesnt get any better than that but of curse they aint cheap.

the only thing is the pp's were more expensive and flowed less at anywhere but over .550 lift...personally i got the pp 5.7 perim's and was very happy with the results but if i was looking for some centerbolts i would look elsewhere especially after seeing jrp's writeup.

well those heads where less expensive at teh time becasue of a special but go try and by them now for that price i think right now they are going for like $1600 and i bought a set of PP ls6 style heads for $1275 i dont mind getting my hand dirty to save to save like $300 bucks specially since the PP will probably flow just as good after you smooth out all those rought edges. Now iam not saying PP is tha **** iam just saying that for a comparison between heads that where hand finnished and heads tha twhere not the results wherent that much off. I know PP is not the best and they do get blown away by others like afr or mti but they do cost alot more

i would say go with the stage 2 ls6 5.7 heads if you are plannign on keeing compression the same...for power i have a set of PP stage 2 ls6, 228/224 cam @112, slp longtube,s and ory plus a few other things, and i made 427 at the tires w/ a tune. some people say that the partiot heads are unreliable but mine have done fine so far and i would recomend them...

if your going to do heads, buy a great set only once. the et-performance head is up to date on all the newest tech. et-also does port work for AFR and last time i looked, the 5.3 head from et-was making better power. call and talk to them,it dont hurt. i'm swithcing to the et-head this year myself,i feel they are that good. whatever you choose, goodluck to ya.

I own a set of pp 5.3's. I am happy with them. If i were you though i would save my money or spend more and get a set of afr's.
