Default Which Alt Bracket

An earlier post (don't seem to have the URL) referenced two different alternator brackets - a big one (p/n #12563327) and a small one (p/n #12556915). I wasn't aware that there are two of them. How do I know which one I need? What I need is a stock fbody bracket. -Bob

There is a big bracket that is the main support for the alternator, it bolts to the front of the block. On the back of the alternator is a little brace that goes to the side of the engine block. I'm not familiar with the part numbers, but it sounds like you need both pieces.

As John_D described above. You need two brackets. The part numbers you have are for those two brackets. 12563327 is the larger main bracket and 12556615 is the rear smaller bracket.

Thanks for the help. By the way, does anyone have the p/n for the idler - or is there a better one in the aftermarket? -Bob

You can get a Katech manually adjustable tensioner from Thunder Racing. The number I found for the stock one is 12557335

As always, I suggest having the dealer or SDPC double check those P/N before ordering.
