Default speed dentisy tuning question

Ive been searching and reading about speed dentisy tuning and im wondering if you still run your o2s.The reason i ask is because i need to run higher octane fuel.I just bought a 90mm intake and have not bought a maf yet and dont want to if i can tune around it.thanks mike

They're not really necessary if you're racing the car. You're in open loop most of the time anyway.

So are you saying you dont need your o2s when tuning speed dentisy.Do you have to turn off those sensers.

they're not necessary if you're only tuning open loop... but if you're closed loop (tuning for WOT and for normal driving) you'll want to use them... open loop tuning only way to do so accurately really is w/a wideband O2 sensor... whereas closed loop tuning can be done to an extent w/narrowband O2s
