Default Weird Problem--Need Help!!

When I brake hard and then let off the brake then stop, my voltage meter dips into the red. RPMs also drop off below normal idle. It slowly comes back up to normal and the car does not stall. Lights dim and it sounds like I might be getting some electrical (popping sound) feedback through the stereo. I have not done any new mods lately so I am not sure where the problem could be coming from.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, I checked everything over the weekend and still the same problem. Battery checked out good and all connections are solid.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas.

Thanks

He meant to see if the battery is rocking back and forth and grounding out against the shock tower.

The battery hold down is made of plastic and is known to break after a few hard launches.

Checked that too. Battery is not moving and all the wires are tight no corrosion either. I am using an Optima Red.

I did notice that it only does it after the car has warmed up.

Thanks

Make sure no wires are touching the passengers side header.

Default check the grounds

I would check the ground cable from the battery to the engine block. It sounds like when you launch or stop fast you may a loose ground cable. Also check your engine to body grounds as well for tightness and/or corrosion build up. It dont sound like an alternator problem or it act up all the time.
