Default longer rods for 224/224 .581 cam?

Do I need longer rods for an otherwise stock motor with a 224/224 .581/.581 112lsa cam and 918 springs?

Are u talking about the push rods. I hope you are not talking about the conection rods. If you are talking about the push rods than ya 7.4 lenth. If you are running a A4 then i would get them if you are in a M6 i would use the stock ones. This will help if you miss a shift. You would be better of with a bent push road than a bent vavle.

Yea, pushrods sorry. I have an m6 and sounds like i have a bent pushrod (chromoly push rods). So stock size is fine, and it's still possible to bend a hardened pushrod?

Not realy they are disined not to bend. I would get you a set of stock pushrods. This will act like a fuse if you miss a shift. Better to pull the vavle covers than the heads.

stock pushrods with the cam and springs? i've heard this was no good and the rods can bend under normal driving just because of the cam and springs....let alone at 6500rpm.

Sorry, but believing that stock rods are a "fuse" for safety is boloni.
The stock ones will flex and cost you power and mess up your valvetrain geometry.
Get a set of 7.40 and be done with it.
A 224/.581 is (should) be a XE-R lobe and is pretty hard on the valvetrain. Do get a set of titanium retainers to lighten moving parts.
