Its not a problem. I just got a cutout welded in and didn't notice a loss of lowend over running through my muffler....its much louder though!

nope, Only need 6" of piping from where the primaries merge(beginning of the collector) to where you're exhaust dumps(cutout) to be sufficient for backpressure...

My brothers SS has a cut out at the end of each of his headers, performs significantly better with them open, track and dyno proven!

The sound on stock manifolds is not too bad.

i have FLP long tubes, NO CATS, and my numbers went from 380rwhp 360rwtq (closed)
to 400rwhp and 375rwtq (open) it was hard to beleive because it reals faster with it closed.... its DAMN loud when open!!!.... sounds AWSOME at low speed and idle....

i believe there is a loss of tourqe below 2500 RPMs with the cut-out open...but once you get up in the higher RPMs the gas flows much better so it can tac out and accelerate easier... I could be totally off on this but this is what i've heard...

cut out CLOSED OPEN
2500 rpm- 275rwtq 300rwtq +25
3500 rpm- 320rwtq 350rwtq +30
4500 rpm- 340rwtq 370rwtq +30
5000 rpm- 350rwtq 375rwtq +25

sorry, most of my dynos started at 2300-2500.... but there was NO loss in torque.....

The only issue I had was listening to the noise which sucked. I didnt like how the car sounded with the cutout open. With stock manifolds it will not be so bad.

That's because the tq is pushed down in the curve, therebye making the car "feel" and rev quicker. But make no mistake, the car will always be a faster CAR w/ a open cutout....it's a matter of the driver driving it right....

backpressure makes if feel better driving around at low speeds "throttle responce" but you dont need it for performance....
