Default Polished Vs. Chrome

Ok just a quick opinion getter , I have Chrome Y2k`s on the Z but the SS is in need of some rims. I am planning on buying some 18" ZO6`s but because $$$ doesnt grow on trees I was thinking about polished . I have never seen a set of polished rims, especially when next to a pair of chrome rims. I know i can just take a soapy sponge wipe off the chrome rims and rinse and Bling Bling but do polished give enough of a shine do they clean easy or do they tarnish whats any and everyones opinion ?

They look good. Not as bling bling as the crome ones, but you have to do a lot more cleaning on crome to keep it looking good.

I go the other way. I enjoy chrome more. It's brighter, easier to clean, and the metals, alloy and chroming techniques they use today are superb. I have the optonal chrome package on my 02 Z, I have polished alum on the Imp (eagle 203's) plus Cragar draglites for racing the Imp. The aluminum is 3 times the elbow grease to keep up on. The chrome is rub-on, rub-off. I use "nevr-dull". I tried everything out there, Mothers, ealge 1 and some $$$ **** too, whatever. Nevr-dull works best.
OH, and don't buy Eagle wheels, if why? Ask and I can fill ya in on the bent rim plus other stuff.

I would definitely go with the Chrome. If money is any issue go with the polished.

Polished wheels are cheaper but are harder to take care of and takes a good polishing and i mean a good polishing to make it look as get as chrome and also most if not all aftermarket wheels that come polished dont come with a clear coat do to the fact that if you put a clear coat of some sort on a polished wheel it will haze up. Chrome on the other hand is easy to clean (soap & water) shines great even if a lil dirty but also a little bit more pricey. Its up to you what you choose if you dont like spending a long time cleaning your wheels and polising them then get the chrome but if you dont mind and like to polish then get the polished wheel. Also the price between chrome and polish isnt that big of a difference. So its all up to you and good luck w/ you search and hope u find the right wheel.

I would go with chrome. I have polished wheels and I wish they were chrome.

The only way I would get a polished wheel is if it were made of Billet. Or an I-Forged or Fiske. If your going Z06's go chrome and never look back.

Ditto. Chrome is a lot easier to clean and keep looking nice. Only takes about 3-5 minutes per wheel to keep looking perfect.

I've had polished, painted, and chromed wheels. I've settled on polished for the main reason that they are easy to repair when damaged. All three wheel types show wear after about 10 years, but I find a polish and clearcoat application to the polished wheel renews it with less effort and cost than chrome. Painted wheels seem to show wear after about 5 years, and they brake dust damage quicker. I've had the chrome start to wear off on my wheels also.

I have polished but i'd rather have chrome. looks better imo. easier to clean and looks better when it is clean. only issue is if your strapped for cash. but i'd still save up the extra $$ and go with chrome.
