Default installing LT's and TR6's mess with tune????

right after I installed TR6 plugs, and LT's my A4 starting shifting really soft and only shifts at like 5700 instead of 6000 like it used to with stock tuning.
please help..... can installing those things mess with the trans tune that much?

thanks

Plugs, not likely. Headers, expect to see changes to
idle (where the O2s are now colder and not working
so well) and stronger pull up top. Plug changes have
a chance of a plug wire being loose afterward, mis-
seated etc. which can make for a weak motor.

Soft, slow shifts may more likely be to do with the
MAF underreporting airflow. But shift points are only
speed and TPS for part throttle, speed and RPM for
full throttle. Might be due for a cleaning, as you have
an oiled type air filter.

Thing about headers is, you bang around a lot under
the car installing them and can damage stuff or maybe
disconnect something that didn't get put back. Check
for fresh codes, if you can, and inspect for loosened
wires, connectors unplugged and like that. Also check
that you aren't fixing to burn any O2 wires from them
running too close or flapping around.

The tach is notoriously slow so if you did improve power
the tach's lag, will indicate lower shift RPM than before for
the same actual shift. The logged RPM the computer spits
out, though, is dead on.
