Hot Rod Power Tour/ Pump Gas Drags/ Drag Week - Texas guys interested in a cruise from Dallas to Milwaukee, question???

I am trying to plan a cruise for everyone from Texas that wants to travel in a group to Milwaukee for the Hot Rod Power Tour.

My question is:

What day are you all wanting to leave? I figured from Dallas to Milwaukee is about a 1040 mile trip. Now that is a hell of a drive right there. I was kind of thinking of leaving on Friday June 3rd (the day before we need to be there) and getting 750 of those miles knocked out. That would put us in Springfield Illinois for the night of Friday June 3rd. Everyone could get a good nights rest. Then get up bright and early on Saturday June 4th to drive the additional 290 miles (so ~4 hours or so) to get to Milwaukee.


I am trying to plan this for everyone to accomodate as many people as possible. if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please use this post to make them known to all.

Hey I think that that would be good or we could possibly leave on that thursday. Correct me if I am wrong but on sat. 4 we have the first car meet and then we head out on sunday morning to the next stop at springfield il. Also has anybody made any hotel reservations? I was goin to go ahead and book my rooms for the trip so they dont sell out, I thouht it would be great if we all stayed at the same hotel and cruised the whole trip together.

thurs evening or friday am - go to chicago or all the way? :)
