Default gmmg or true duals or stick with slp d/d?

hi, i did a search and couldn't find much on the slp dual/duals. my setup is jet hot long tubes with ory and the slp d/d cat back. i'm putting in an fms f13 cam and want an exhuast a little louder than what i have now and flows well. any thoughts? joe.

well I had all three so I'll give my opinion, all these are with QTP 1 3/4 LT's and a Mufflex ORY, and a TR224/112 cam....

SLP D/D - sounded nice with the LT's, ORY, was a little quiet, but I had a QTEC in the I pipe for when I want loud , a very stealth, nice setup for the street, with VERY little rasp.

True Duals - Obviously I didn't use the ORY, but I used a ORX, it was a 2.5 system with moroso spiral flow mufflers dumped before the axle. Duals sounds awesome with LT's, cam, but I ditched this because without cats, the fumes were pretty bad inside the car, but the resonance wasn't bad at all with the duals....

GMMG - I currently run this and I am VERY happy with the setup, this is a loud setup also, louder then my TD setup above, but has a very unique sound that people tell me sounds like not most other F-Body's. Rasp is kinda bad at 1800-2100, but the music after that makes up for it. I am thinking of sticking with this setup, but the resonance at highway speeds with the windows up is enough to drive you nuts.

hope I helped you out some

The cam will make the D/D louder and if you go with heads in the future too it will get even louder.

See how you like it with the cam first, because the cam should make it louder.

Like cm02WS6 said, try out your dual dual when you get the cam. If you think its too quiet, I say go with the GMMG. That is one of the most amazing souning catbacks aroud. Yeah, its a little pricey, but its all worth it.

Why spend all the $ on a GMMG system or TD's when all you have to do to achieve a louder car is spend $179 on a QTEC in your I pipe. Open cutout at the flip of a switch with the F13 will be plenty loud. HTH

My vote is for true duals. They flow better and with sweet thunders they sound bettter IMO.

It all depends on what you want. www.ls1sounds.com might help you in your decision. In my experience I have seen D/D are the quietest, then gmmg, then true duals w/dumps are the loudest. Good luck

I'd say wait and see how you like it after the cam. Adding the torquer cam made my exhaust much louder although its a magnaflow instead of slp d/d.

Wish I could find a deal like that!!! I'd buy that in a heartbeat for $350 for a genuine GMMG catback.

Would some dyno mat help with the noise?

True duals.

I had a QTEC and it wasn't reliable. Kept burning fuses, then the motor went and I had to send it in to get replaced.

I now have true duals and have no regrets except ground clearance, and I'm already used to that.

I beg to differ......TD's with dumps are not as loud as my H/C (230/236)..LT's w/ ORY and Loudmouth.

People like making fun of it over the internet...but there is not a single person that has ever heard my car in person that has not liked it....we are talking dozens of people (at car shows, track, and on the street).
