I wired my Valentine 1 into the wires in the upper console, as described in the FAQ posting. At first it would NOT turn off, and remained on/powered no matter how long I left it. I have since installed the "cigar relay" as mentioned in the FAQ and now it turns off as the car powers down!!!! I don't know if it was cause and effect, or something else I did, but it now works; I don't have to turn it off manually each time I use it. Thanks to everyone who offered help. :hail: :)

I hard wired my radar Yesterday, it isn't a Valentine but I just took my hot side wire tapped it to the blue with white stripe and did the ground to the black. Funny thing is it times out and everything, but as soon as you open the door it comes on.. lol

That's weird, when I did my Denali it didn't come on until I hit a map light, open the glove box, turn on the cargo light, etc.. lol
I guess the big thing is that it comes on automatically and times out.. haha

I have an '05. The detector comes on when the door is opened, but that is not a big deal. I glad it works! :)

If it turns on when you open the door, that just means that it went off. Mine actually goes on sometimes when I hit the unlock button on the remote.
