Default head and cam package...

Just curious... Never really thought about doing a head/cam package but how dumb would I be if I got a somewhat basic package with stock manifolds. I am very partial to my catback and the sound it gives. I don't want anything louder which I am very aware of the disadvantage I am leaving myself. But just curious to how the stock manifolds would act with a decent head/cam package?
Thanks,
Jon

Just have them port the intake ports. you'll leave a lot of power on the table with stock manifolds. At least get shorty headers of you get heads. otherwise, your stock heads are doing you fine.

why bother? do headers or stall. If faster is what you seek.

The factory manifolds just don't flow well enough as it is from the factory. Put in a bigger cam and you won't see the full power without headers.

if you don't want to change the sound, how about forced induction? It wouldn't alter the sound and for close to the same price you could get more power than a h/c setup.

by adding a head and cam package you will gain hp = more noise= different exhaust note[tone] if you like want you got stick with it .other wise rethink what your after. sound or horsepower

Hey guys, what about a n2o setup for this guy? That won't change noise but will add hp right?

Yea buddy, you make it sound like it's either all sound or all power. It is possible to have a pretty quiet car and be fast. You could run a catback and a 150 shot and be pretty damn quick, and yet it still sounds like a LS1 with a catback... You may want to rethink your statement before I rethink my plans
