Default Mid's VS LT's

I do undrestand that LT's are suppsoed to show better gains than mids, but I really don't want my car to be loud but I would like the extra ponies. Yes some say that to get that power you need to sacrafice sound and **** but I won't. If i threw on some mid's along with my loudmouth, would it even be worth it over stock manifolds? Thanks guys!
