Default Quickest Member Time Slip, BAR NONE?

Who here has been the quickest, period?

Not LS1-specific, not necessarily full-bodied cars?

I'll set the bar at 4.78 @ 144 (1/8th mile, no "wide open" quarter mile passes, but have been 8.90 @ 178 on the throttle stop)

Actual slip is available for proof.

4-Link Dragster, 532" BBC, 1 Carb, Naturally Aspirated.

.517 React
1.073 60'
3.076 330'
4.785
144.20

Batters Up!

We've got a Jerry Haas Built 2000 Trans Am, and a Rick Jones built 2003 Grand Am, both NHRA Pro-Stock legal. We run them in Top-Sportsman in NHRA's Division 2 (Southeast Division)

The Trans Am has run a best of 7.25 @ 190.xx with a 570 BBC, Dual Dominators, Naturally Aspirated
The Firebird has run a best of 7.6 @ Around 184 with a 565" BBC, Dual Dominators, and (surprise) Natually Aspirated.

I just haven't gotten my License to run them in the quarter yet, and I was chasing the track points championship this year, so I didn't play around with them at the local track.

The quickest car we've ever had was a Haas-built 1963 Split-Window 'Vette than ran a best of 7.05 @ 199.

We tried to get that thing in the 6's and over 200 mph, but by the rules of the class we were running at that time, we just couldn't get there. That car had a Pro-Stock style 500 cid Pontiac Motor, trick Split-Dominators and a 5 Speed manually shifted Lenco Transmission.

I really wanted to drive that thing... but it is no longer in our stable.

We put together a car for a customer with a 598" Big Chief Motor with 1 Dominator that ran a 4.40 in a 4-Link dragster with a .985 Sixty Foot.

I'm hoping to step up a little this year, I'd like to get in the 4.6's before this season is over.

Unfortunatly Fuzzy died of cancer. He worked as an ARP rep at the NHRA races until his death. He and his wife Janna were two great people !

Now that you said that, I remember hearing that about Fuzzy a while back. It was sad news, he was a very nice, not to mention funny, guy. I met him, along with Eddie and Ercie at several races in Atlanta.

I've heard the name Alfred Weiss, although I don't remember where. Is he still involved with any of the NHRA Fuel teams?

BTW, where are those slips guys. I'm talking about the cars the members drive or have driven themselves.

I have my NHRA competition license for Super Comp/ET brackets, but you have to have a seperate classification for Top Sportsman/Super Gas (Door Cars).

I am officially licensed to run as quick as 7.49 in the quarter, in a dragster.

All I would have to do it make some "short passes" in one of the full-bodied cars to up grade my license, I just haven't done it yet.

Blown98, did you come to Huntsville for the big OutlawRacing.com race in November? They're planning on 2 of them this year, you should try to make it, by far the biggest crowd I've ever seen at Huntsville!

What class do you run? That's pretty damn stout there, what was that in the 1/8th? I'm gonna guess mid-to-upper 4.70's? I know N2O cars run strong on the top end of the quarter, so I think I should be close!

Keep'em coming!

Hey! Does 6.50 @ 103 1/8th & 10.34 @ 120 1/4 in a 02 Z/28 A3 at 3210 lbs count?

My little buddy, 16 year old "C. Talley" is on this site, goes 5 teens @ high 120's in the 1/8th. He's in a small block chevy snake. His Dad won the Div 4 IHRA bracket finals this past Oct. in a small block chevy roadster that runs 5.50's in the 1/8th.

Here is a picture of my Uncles PRo Mod Vette. Best to date was a 6.41 @ 221mph. That was with the 704ci and 2 stages.

We have a Pat Musi 737ci motor being built as we speak. 1500HP on motor and 2300 on the bottle. We are hoping for 6.20's this year.
