injectors
i am kind of new to the LS1 engine. i have owned a 95z and have loved the performance of the LT1 for years, but now i have built up my 95Z to the point to were i cant drive it as a everyday driver, so i just bought me a 2000TA to drive evey day. my question is this, when should i change my injectors, my TA put down 384hp to the wheels, and i am guessing that is adds up to around 390-400 at the crank, that was all motor, i also have an 85hp shot of juice. could my injectors be holding me back. i read that the stock ones are good for 450hp, is this true.
2000TA=TR 224 CAM, LS6 INTAKE, COMP CROMEMOLY PUSHRODS, COMP 918 SPRINGS, SLP LT'S, ROLLMASTER 2X TIMMINGCHIAN, PORTED TB, PORTED MAF ENDS, LS6 PORTED OIL PUMP, LS1 MOTORSPORTS LID, SLP SMOOTH ELBO, FLOWMASTER CATBACK, CARSOUND CATS, NOS 5177 DRY KIT.

NA you're good to 400ish rwhp. With the dry kit I would run it on a dyno with a wideband to check the AF ratio to be sure you are safe....you may be lean and not know it with the n20.

This seems like one of those never ending stories. Do you want to know what you can get away with, or what's the right thing to do?
You can run the stock 26.6lb injectors up to 400rwhp. I am. But you should tweak the duty cycle to over-drive them or you will run lean. I have. (Note - 384rwhp = 450 crank hp for an M6 & 480 for an A4)
The proper way would be to increase your injectors (I am), ESPECIALLY if you are adding heads to your car. Go here to find a worksheet to determine inj requirements.
http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm#WORKSHEET
Lots of people run their inj at 100% duty cycle, or more. But all the 'experts' will tell you that anything over 80% is asking for trouble. Over heating the fuel, running out of fuel, running too lean.....all the bad stuff. According to the chart, your car should have 30lb injectors. But hey, it runs now right, so why worry?
