Question Exhaust/A.I.R question.

I have a LS1 with a 226/230 Comp Cam, Hooker LT's,Hooker Y-pipe and SLP Loudmouth,3600 Yank stall. No cats.

The car is very loud after the cam and such. I am thinking of adding cats first to quiet it down some. I want to remove the AIR system to clean up the engine bay but I am unsure if that will hurt the cats. If that helps then I may add the GMMG exhaust to give it a little better sound. I guess I'm really shooting for the same exhaust set up as the ZL1's minus the AIR system. Do I really need the AIR system?

I wouldn't go with cats to only quite it down, they will slow your exhaust flow and you will lose some power. Just go with a borlamouth, which is a borla or any other brand bullet type muffler located in the piping somewhere to quite it down and it shouldn't really hurt your exhaust flow either.
