Overlap and cylinder pressure discussion
I'd like to see a discussion on how lack of overlap affects cylinder pressure and detonation in a higher compression/larger cube motor. (Say 11.5-12:1) running pump gas or race gas.
Compare these two sample cams: (XE-R grinds for simplicity)
230/230 115LSA 110ICL (XER)
246/250 111LSA 109ICL (XER)
Similar valve events (IVO, etc) but completely different overlap wise.
How do you think both cams would behave on pump gas with tuning?
