98 operating temp... hey guys
i was just wondering what the 98's temp is normally. mine seems a little funky. whenever im moving it barely gets above 100 and when sitting still it gets up close to 210. also i have never heard my fans come on... is this normal for these cars? thanks a bunch.

On 98's the Temp guage is actually functional, unlike 99+(fake, kinda)
The first line on the bottom left of the dashboard is actually 160*, unless you have white faceguages, they are misprinted for 98's
180* or so would be normall cruzing on the highway when its cool outside. The pcm won't turn on the cooling fans untill 226*, typically when sitting in traffic. The low fans are kinda quiet, you can't hear them while driving the car or idling unless you pop the hood. this is normall but the high temps bothered me so I tuned my car and had the low fan come on around 190 and high at 200, 98's have a 180* tstat. The guage hung around 180-90 in any weather, city or highway. Since then i've installed a 160* tstat so i've lowered my fan settings further

With stock tuning you'll probably never hear the fan on high speed unless it's 80+ outside and you're in traffic (or you've got the A/C on).

Are you saying the '98 whiteface gauges are misprinted? Otherwise it must be on a certain %. Otherwise 
, it's nice having a functional temp gauge.
