Hello. Today is a sad day for me. I was leaving my house and backed into my 2002 Z28. :barf: I had forgot I moved it and backed into it. :bang: I am curious what you guys think the damage is. Does anyone know any good body shops in MI?
Thanks,
Andy

Thanks for the replys, I may just get some panels (bumper and quarter) have them painted and put tem on myself. It really depends on what I get quoted. I just don't want to have to go through my insurance.

Don't listen to these guys....your gonna have to take out a second mortgage to fix that.....j/k..nah it shouldn't be that much...probably a new bumper cover..and if the impact plastic is bent probably a new one of those. but nothing major

Yeah I was just upset when it happened. I think the biggest thing that upsets me is I was just starting to do some work to it and this will cut into funds. Thanks for the replies.

I think just the stock bumper alone is about $300-350 not counting paint. You'd do best to get one from a salvage yard.

If the bumper cover itself is not ripped or crushed anywhere there is no need for a new one. Have the bumper cover removed and stripped and repainted. Its hard to tell if that is a rip iin the cover in the pic. It kinda looks like water but i can't tell from the glare.

The bumper cover is not ripped, but the quarter panel sheet metal is bent. I may not get it fixed till spring because I don't like to drive it in the salt. Thanks, Andy

I can't really tell that it did anything. Should be an easy fix. Don't beat yourself up about it!

rear quarters dont come off :) you need to work with what you have on the car. i estimate 500-1K in damages depending on where you go.

yep i had a "ass print" in my rear qtr from a suv bump and run... the paint was blended into the door and bumper and it cost me about 500 form a really good shop so your looking about that plus a bumper cover from a yard or a ls1tech member

Yeah, I realized that the quarters don't come off when I looked at it closer. Oh well if it gets too expensive I will turn it into my insuranse company.

That stinks Andy... I see you are in Davison. I'm from Clarkston... I know Clarkston Auto Body always does a good job, let me know if you want their info. Good luck!

I can't really tell how bad that is. There was a 02 C5 at the GM dealership down here that came in with a crack in it. One of the body shop guys just did something called a plastic weld and looked good as new (So I hear.) I need to have the same done to a crack in mine. YOurs may be a little more intense however.
(By the way, that C5 was traded in for a C6. A guy came and bought the C6 for his wife as a daily driver! Must be nice :eyes: )
