95 Z28 6sp vs.02 GT 5sp 3 times To start off, my 130k Z28 ( motor was rebuilt to factory specs except .030 overbore to 355c.i. by jasper bout 18k miles ago) has BBK 1 5/8 shorties, 2 1/2 ory, slp loudmouth, spec2 clutch w/ alum flywheel, K&N FIPK, ported maf, tb airfoil, LCAs, SFCs, and b&m ripper. The mustang has hedman 1 5/8 steped to 1 3/4 hedders, crank pulley, cold air induction, tb but dunno what size, cobra IRS w/ 3.55 gears, Steeda timing adjuster, steeda shifter, and a few other things. He has ran 13.30s@107mph on a g-timer.
First race was a 2nd gear roll( he got a slight jump) and he stayed ahead till i hit the top of 3rd and then hit forth and started pulling him.
2nd race was from a stop. He was on 275/40 DRs and i was on 245/50 16in crap tires. I launched from 2k and spun like an SOB and he went off idle and spun a lil to. We hit 2nd and i kept spinning and he started leaving me. By the time i was half way into 4th i was starting to reel him in but ran outta road so he won the 2nd race.
3rdd race was in 1st gear from about 15-20mph and we both nailed it at the same time. We were dead even in first, both spinning a good bit. I hit 2nd gear and started edgin away. When i hit 3rd gear his nose was at my door. Top of 3rd his front end was lookin at my back end and then after i hit the top of 4th i prolly put 1 to 1.5 lengths on him.
All in alll, it was a fun night and i was champ 2 outta 3 times. I was very suprised because i thought both cars wouldve been dead even each time cuz his car is pretty damn fast. I guess i just under estimated the LT1 just a bit. His dad has an 04 Mach 1 5sp w/ induction mods, x-pipe, slp exhaust, a few other things, and he wants to run now. Dunno if i can take him though. Ill just have to wait till i get the TA back next Saturday
