I'm attending Skip Barber in March.
3 day Race School at Sebring + 2 Day advanced at Daytona's 24 hour course.

Needless to say, I'm very much looking forward to it.

Hey Carlos, you "cross training" now? :)

Sounds like fun. A friend of mine did it and loved it. I'm going to resist for fear I will like it TOO much!

Skip Barber is a great school!!
I did the 3 day school and 2 lapping days also raced in the Formula Dodge Series.

Youll love it!!

I race Daytona every year w/ karts. the 250cc shifter karts are hitting 1:57 lap times and 165mph

That's nuts! Looks like a ton of fun- much funner (and much much faster)than the endurancekarts I rode recently.

As for safety, I'm not taking any chances, and I've ordered an R3 head/neck restraint (it's like a Hans).

Thanks for the links.

oh i thought you were talking about karting..

you mean head/neck retratiants w/ skip barber. I didnt use anything but a helmet, if your just doing the 3 day then the 2 day you wont need it. Unless your going to be running in their series'. If you start getting serious w/ racing your car, after you get a cage and 5 point harness then go and get a head/neck retraint.

But untill then theres no need to spend that kind of money

Death by basal skull fracture (or the very possiblity of it) is enough reason for me to be getting the R3 (http://www.lfttech.com/).
I'll be doing either Spec Miata or putting a full cage on the SS next year for several road course events, so the investment is worth it.

Just got back yesterday from 5 days of instruction and lapping. Driving these around Sebring and Daytona (yes, the 31 degree banking included!) was incredible.

http://www.skipbarber.com/images/homepage/rt1.jpg

At Sebring the cars had 4 speed manuals.
At Daytona they had 5 speed sequentials.

Threshold brake/heel & toe/double clutch downshifting/trail brake excercises can be a handful (especially when coming off NASCAR turn 2 into a 3rd gear flat out chicane!!!!!) :drive: :drive: :drive: :drive:

Here's the track maps:
