Default Porsche Carrera 4???

I ran up on a Porsche Carrera 4 on some quieter roads tonight, and goated him into playing around a little. No major pulls, but I stayed with him on the couple of jaunts we had until he put his blinker on a made a hard right onto another street. Anybody ran one of these? Would I have had a chance?

I ran a GT2 or was it the GT3. What ever one is the nonturbo. I raped him from a roll?

They run pretty good but the main thing is that they hook like a **** on the street.

The roads were still a little damp from the weather we had here last week, so I couldn't hook well at all from a roll, but he got off pretty well. As soon as I did get traction, I was reeling him in. We never started from a stop, and like I said, it was only a minutes worth of short runs.

My car isn't stock, though. So you think I would win?

I realize you have a fast s2k and all, but a GT2 would probably rape you (mid 11s stock). And a GT3 is low 12s, GT3 is in Z06 range. And Both are turbo RWD. So even if it was a GT3 I doubt you raped it from a roll. Maybe it was just a Carrera?

And the one the first post is talking about is probably a Carrera 4s. I'm pretty sure they are non-turbo AWD. They are fast, but it depends entirely on your mods. I think they are high 12 cars.

4s is a driver's race with an ls1 fbod, with the advantage giong to the slightly modded ls1 fbod.

Yea, your right. I researched a little more after I posted and found this...

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2004/por...um1.0.porsche*

Turns out there is a Carrera 4, and a Carrera 4s as well. I thought there was only the 4s... Shows what I know. But the GT3 is still Z06 territory.

Like I said. From a roll I raped one. I think they are 360hp at the crank?

i have raced 2 s4's. both from a roll though. one was from about 25 mph up to 90 or so and the other was from 50'ish to about 140. i pulled em both times... the second race was with about 100 lbs of junk in my car, but he did have his s/o in the car. both were before the new mods listed.

I just saw some carrera's at the track. They were pulling off low 13's consistently.

The Regular 911 is faster than the more expensive AWD Carrera 4 as it doesn't have the extra weight pulling it down. The non-Turbo Non-GT3/2 911's are more or less in the same leauge as a Corvette LS1 in terms fo straight line Acceleration. I've seen some as slow as high 13s.

FWIW I beat a 1999 911 Carrera in my Trans Am when it was bone stock. Met the guy some time later and in the course of our conversation it came out he was the guy I raced. Funny that. Now had thee road gone Curvey I think thats when the 911 really shines.

I can vouch for this. I took out a carrera 4s from about 10-90 mph by 2 to 2.5 cars with headers and lid.
