Manual Transmission - what do i need to do to make ls1 t56 to a lt1 t56
i have a a4 lt1 now, and might get a ls1 t56... what do i need other then a bellhousing?

ok then
bell ,input gear, front adaper, clutch fork, slave, (master & pedals since you don't have these w/a4) Rebuild trans to install above.

Just from past experiences, seems as though the LT1 versions have tougher internals. Just my observation though. I'd personally just buy one for a LT1, having been in your situation before.
i'm looking for an lt1, but ran into some very nice ls1 t56s thats why...

It's basically a total rebuild (as you have to change out the input shaft, front faceplate (the part the everything mounts to), and of course the bellhousing.
I know some people that have done it, however it was because they already had all the parts from another tranny.
