Default WS6 vs 3000GT

I made a post a couple of months ago asking if I would win against a 3000GT SL or VR4. Well i ran into this kid again.. this time I wasnt going to let him get away. I was just cruising around town when I saw this Red 98 3000GT with big as wing. He was bone stock with no VR4 sticker on the back. He was about 1/8 mile ahead of me, I got a red light and he kept going, I figured he got on the highway, so I got on the highway to.I get off my exit which is right next to my house. I see him about 4 cars ahead in the next lane at a red. I was able to pass the 4 cars and get right behind him to see if he was a SL or VR4.. which I guess he was just a SL. We make a left and I get over right next to him and we both have a car infront of us. He makes another left on a road thats speedlimits 45 instead of 35.. so Im able to get around the cars and so was he. I get right along side him look over and give it some gas to let him know I want some. He punches it, I give him about a 2 car start going about 45mph. I push the pedal to the floor and pass him like he wasnt even moving. I had 5 or more cars on him when it was done and I was at about 115MPH.. coming up to the State Highway patrol station so I slowed down to 45 and made a right turn. Got up to a 4 way stop and he pulls next to me and gives me the middle finger. I look at him and laugh, what a stupid ricer.. kinda wish he has twin turbos to make it more fun.
Not the best race material, but Ill take what i can get in this somewhat small city.

Way to put the beat down on a guy that honestly doesn't deserve to drive a 3/S. I wish guys with non-turbo 3/S's would quit racing their cars. I had a N/A 93 Stealth ES (supposedly the fastest N/A 3/S model made) and it was embarassingly slow even after all the bolt on mods available for it. The fact that this guy shot you the bird after racing really sucks. He should have at least had enough class to give you the thumbs up.

kinda wish he has twin turbos to make it more fun.
Be careful what you wish for, the TT models are all AWD so they're no slouch especially from a dead stop. Then if you add upgraded turbos to at least 15g's, they're 11 second 4000 pound rides. Just making sure you know what you may possibly be getting yourself into. I'm not saying you can't beat them. I just don't want you to go in unprepared.

I've raced my friends VR4 from a roll, I had maybe 10-20 more rwhp then him and I won by only about a car length and a half. 3000gt's aren't that fast from a roll, like ever other AWD cars.

There's a HUGE difference between an SL and a VR4. Why would you wonder if you could beat an SL? Of course you would win... 220 hp FWD 3.0L V6. Which is most likely what that guy had... That's like racing a heavier 00-05 Eclipse GT.

How are AWD not fast from a roll? I'm assuming you simply mean they don't have the "advantage" that they get from a dig. But from a roll, what would make AWD's slow in comparison to RWD? Nothing noticeable...

^ The weight for one, but mostly the drivetrain powerloss due to the power having to go to all 4 wheels. From a roll, 2wd > 4wd.

An Eclise GS-T, being FWD, is quicker from a roll from say 60-120, than an Eclipse GSX is, which is AWD.

That's why WRX/STi's, Evo's, VR4's, etc are better races for us from a dig than from a roll, because those cars launch hard but lose a lot of top end due to the AWD.

I wouldnt want a awd because i think i can do just about as well w/ slicks and definetly better up top.

I love my AWD, 10 lbs boost launches are pretty addicting, and surprisingly I haven't snapped my propshaft, yet. We do lose a lot of power through the diff. but I already have the aerodynamics of a barn so what ever.

Actually, the primary reason a GS-T may be quicker from a roll is because it's 300 lbs lighter than the GSX due to the 2 extra diffs.

In first post up a ways: ^ The weight for one, but mostly the drivetrain powerloss due to the power having to go to all 4 wheels. From a roll, 2wd > 4wd.

Weight and drivetrain powerloss.
