Default how much weight saved by going to lexan/polycarbonate rear window vs oem hatch glass?

Is most of the weight in the glass or the hatch itself?

Anyone got pics?

Hey Ken, how does that attach up at the top of the window area? do you use those dzus fasteners all the way around the rear piece? or does it attach to the stock points up top?

JS - i think in the weight reduction list, someone has listed the T/A rear wing as being heavier than anything else, so with that removed, they came up with a certain weight

Oops, I read your first post wrong, I thought you said you lost 30-40lbs total with the new hatch, missed the word PLUS

Just walked up from the barn to re-weigh before I posted. A stock Formula hatch WITHOUT the glass weighs ~38#'s while the glass weighs right at the same. The Percy's Speedglass hatch, that I have had for a year and still not installed, weighs 17#'s before you trim it, which will probably save 1#.

So, the total weight of the Formula hatch assembly is right at 75#'s with the trim but not the gas struts. Take care. Dave
