Accelerometers with analog voltage output?
I got a mail from stranoparts about new Bell accelerometers
(looking pretty much like a cuter, smaller G-Tech). But I'm
thinking that so much nicer, would be an accelerometer that
put out an analog signal I could log with my HPTuners EIO
cable, thereby catching the prime quantity of interest
against the wideband and OBDII data stream. Getting that
much closer to closing the "outer tuning loop".
Anybody know of such a thing, probably more in the industrial
than auto aftermarket domain? I guess I could go buy an AD
accelerometer chip and cobble something up but a cig lighter
in, g-as-volts out, $29.95 model would be so much nicer.

All the accelerometers we use at work are analog out. Our stuff is expensive at $800 each or more. I am sure you get they pretty cheap since we are not talking more than a couple g range and pretty low frequency response. I don't think you will get nearly enough data through hp-tuners, etc to be useful. You could definetly get one for less than $50 of course you then just have perform a numerical differentiation of the data to get velocity and distance as long as you know time.
