My brother's friend just bought a '92 Civic with a B16 swap and he also has some exhaust and intake mods. I have a stock 2001 T/A and he's confident he'll beat me if we race....
I should be able to take him easily, right? Or is there a chance it could be close?

If its a stock B16 it has about 160 HP. NO TQ whatsooooever. If the hatch isnt gutted, that thing is slow. If it is gutted, its probably still slow.

If the B16 isnt "internally" stock, you'll have to race and find out.

From what you said, Id throw $500 down saying you'd win. and it wouldnt even be close.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure that I'll hand him his *** but I'm not familiar with Honda's at all. He was talking like the B16 swap was a huge deal so that got me a bit nervous, I guess. He says that he killed an SRT-4 and when I raced my buddies SRT-4 I only beat him by about a car length...but my buddies SRT-4 wasn't stock either....
Me being a girl probably has a lot to do with all the **** he's talking...I bet he thinks I'm a joke...I can't wait to race this punk when I go to California this weekend

Seriously boss.... bet this clown as much money as you possibly can. Check to make sure he isn't running a turbo, or hiding som NAWZ on you (which still would be unlikely to take you down). If all he has are bolt-ons... refer to my first post.

That thing could only run at most a 100 shot of the gas without putting pieces of piston in its oil pan. Spot the guy a car length, count to two after he launches before you launch, and rip his ****** doors off when you shoot past him. he wont talk out of his *** anymore i bet.

but if he got b16 japan version (r -type) , dont make fun with him and take it serious.

I no alot about these engines from my experiance when i where in Asia and Gulf Area .

I have been sneekin around the ricers and i found out every sticker is worth 10 hp unless it advertises a part he does not have , then its worth 20hp. At this rate he could be packin over 200 ponies.Good luck!!!

you "no" as much about English as you do about JDM motors. b16a1 is 160hp/111tq, b16a2(JDM) is 170hp/116tq. I don’t think the extra 10hp/5tq is going to push him into the low 13's, unless we're talking about an 1/8 mile race
