Default What would cause this type of tire wear....?

I came out this morning to a flat tire on my front drivers side. They're stock Eagle 275-40R17s. I took the tire off & into Discount Tire to see if they could patch it, because to me, I didn't see any holes or gashes....

The guy @ Discount showed me there was a hole on the tire towards the outside of the tread. The tires only had 15K miles on them. The tread pattern however, was all screwed up. From the inner half of the wheel to the center, it had normal tread wear, but from the center out, the guy said it looked like I had 80K miles on the tire. What would cause the OUTSIDE edge of the tire to wear?

The only awkward thing I've ever noticed is every so often coming down my parents driveway (which is steep), when I actually am backing out making my turn and go down the curb itself, it feels like that side of the car wants to "collapse" sometimes.

Any help, advise, info would be appreciated. TIA

Wear on the outside is either too much camber or too much toe in. Either way it needs to aligned.

Appreciate the input guys. I actually took a look @ the other front tire today & the same issue.....too much outside wear.

I'm going to have a new tire put on that side as well, then have an alignment done on it. Thanks again.
