Unhappy Error Loading LS1 Edit

I have a Dell inspiron 8600 with 2ghz centrino. I have Windows XP with SP2 and get the error LS1edit has encountered a problem and needs to close. So after reading problems with SP2 and AMD (then again I don't have an AMD processor) I made a 2nd partion and installed Windows 2000 on the same laptop. I can't open it up in windows 2000 either, it doesn't give any error, on windows 2000, the timebar comes on and then dissapears after like 5 seconds.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I'd try uninstalling SP2 on the first partition. I had to do that w/my home computer (drug it out to the garage) when I didn't have my laptop.

If you read carefully they say SP2 doesn't work with AMD processors. I don't even have an AMD processor. Also windows 2000 is on a completely different partition and he xp partition is hidden when booted into windows 2000. I'm using bootmagic. wierd......

Okay,

I formated the 2nd partition and reinstalled windows 2000 and it works now. I think the first time round I installed all the service packs for windows 2000 also. So I don't think this is just a windows XP issue it's all windows 2000 if you install the latest service packs.

Very odd.
