I removed my door bars last night. when you guys removed yours did you also remove the metal plate it attatched to at the rear of the door where the door catches. I removed it and put washers on the torx screws and mounted the door catch to the door instead of the plate. When I shut the door it would not close completely so I took it back apart and dremeled the place where the screws were so I could position the catch more away from the car now it closes fine and that plate is not light either.

Have you guys done this?
any problems?
