Default afr 225s OR fast 90?

I know it would be great to do both.

That being said, which would I benefit more from?

AFR 225 (vs my stage III ARE LS6)
or
90 mm FAST intake/tb (vs my ARE ported ls6 intake/tb)

I can sell my heads for some dough, so the cost would be sort of close, a bit cheaper for the intake perhaps.

I'm thinking the heads.

I'd go for the FAST as well!

What's your current compression ratio, engine size, and cam?

I agree. The combo will tell the tail.

422, ARE ls6 stage III, ported ls6 intake/tb/tpis 1 3/4 headers.

I am thinking that the heads will net a greater gain. They will pick up some peak hp, but I think they will gain a bunch at other area's of RPM curve.

Keep opinions coming.

I would leave the heads you have on there and get the 90mm Intake/TB portmatched to the ARE heads. I would then use what money was left to upgrade to some 1 7/8 Kooks headers. What size valves do you have?

It's hard to say if you will gain hp going to the AFR 225's. It would be an interesting comparison to see your heads or even MTI S3 big bore heads compared to AFR's. But in all honestly I would go with the FAST 90mm.

Thats what I was thinking. I have a FAST LSX 90mm TB for sale

EDIT : It wont work on a z06. Mine is for an fbody. The z06 uses a electronic (fly by wire) tb.

Can you just compare flow numbers? If they are close i would go with the fast.

if the flow numbers are the same, the AFR's will win due to their smaller port volume. and i doubt they are the same either, especially at 'mid lift' areas.

my cr is 11.5ish

I doubt the flow numbers would be enough different to be a major factor. I was thinking...and still don't know...if the compression was low, say 10:1...that raising it would have more affect...and therefore the heads.

The LS6 intake with the 78mm TB is probably the restriction with 422in^3.

IMHO.
