Default Head Studs or Bolts?

With head studs, can the cylinder heads be removed with the engine still in car, or do you need to use head bolts?

arp studs worked well on my 04 C5, they are equal length for 2004, but no problem with head install

I just installed a set of ARP head studs last night . . . man these are nice, you won't be sorry. It is said you can still lift the heads off with the studs in place on a Fbody. But even if you couldn't, you could still thread the studs back out first. They have allen sockets in the ends.
