Default AWD dsm fun

This past weekend I got to line up with one of these awd dsm "monsters" . His mods are exhaust, boost controller and a few other lil odds and ends. He was doing the normal **** talking about how he beats up on v8's and is a mustang killing machine yadda yadda yadda. Well I got him to bring this mustang killing machine back to the local makeshift 1/4 mile. First run we ran heads up, Ya know you are running a turd when you pull an awd car out of the hole while spinning. By the end of the 1320 had pulled buslengths on him, on second thought let's call it an aircraft carrier. He wanted to race again, this time I decided to spot him a buslength and give him the move. He leaves and what do you know before I am into second gear I manage to make up that buslength and by the topend I have pulled another two or so on him. You would think by now he would have figured it out but nope, One last race. I spot him 2 buslengths, give him the move and have my two buddies get in the car with me, because after this race I am just going to keep on driving..I have wasted enough gas on this mustang murderin machine. This time I get out out of the hole pretty good and make up the distance I spotted him in no time. Once I get out on him he just got out of it and gave up.... Nothing like a pushrod smack down bring that ego back down a bit.

I've yet to see with my own eye's, in person, see a "real" DSM break into the 11's or for that matter mid 12's unless they have ungodly ammounts of money into them they're not going to beat a modded LS1.... Speaking from experience I used to own a 95 Talon TSi.. So the fact of him running into a "real" DSM on the streets is highly unlikely...

First off I wasn't trying to start anything stupid. I didn't say anything bad about LS1's. I do find it funny though that a lot of people on here that talk so much crap about imports yet they are so excited to post up whenever they beat one. My little rice burner will run mid 12's and the total cost with parts is about 16.5k. Again, not saying anything bad about ls1's I love them, I just bought one. Laters...

We don't get excited... it's just funny b/c you only see the ricer's talking **** to other people about how bad they can beat these types of cars and blah blah blah.... ricer's have ego's that's all their is to it... and when one gets dominated it's fun to post about it... am I wrong?

If you can not only see it with your own eyes, but physically touch it with your own fingers, then obviously it's a "real" DSM. Am I wrong? I mean, I'm pretty sure he wasn't racing against a hologram.

Bring it to Cali and we'll tape the race...

And I don't want everyone gettin' all butt hurt because I have pointed out the truth. And please don't try to talk to me about "ricers" having these huge ego's and talking about beating LS1's. Those types are in every crowd and you can't deny it. I've seen the same attitudes here with a select few LS1 owners.

i have 3 friends with dsms, one has a 91 gsx, all he has done is 3 inch exhaust downpipe, act 2900 with 6 puck racing disc, boost controller, safc for tuning, some kinda cam, and on the stock 14b turbo, and he dynoed 280 hp at the wheels and 275ib of torque. And a little bit wider tires than stock. He ran a 13.2 at the track. His mods cost about $2,000 or less, id say for a car that runs about a 15 flat to a 13.2 thats pretty respectable with a stock turbo. I got love for my ls1, but gotta show some respect for others 2, even if they are slower, theres always gonna be someone faster than you.

I just do this stuff for fun anyways. We have a local import shop called showdown motorsports and they have an awd dsm that is turning 10.1's @ 131mph. Along with a few other dsm's that are said to put up decent numbers. I know these things can run when in the right hands, but that's not what this thread was about..it was more that guy who talks a 12second car but brings out a 15second car. We all know one of these types.

Yeah...unfortunately. I didn't want to run the boost to high since I was planning on selling the car. I think I was running about 17lbs...

I agree...Sorry for the outburst, everyone has to defend their cars though. I did just purchase an ls1 and can't wait to get that thing goin'...
