Question Help! my new crank isnt the same as the old!

I ordered a crank for my ls1(out of a 00 Z28) from napa, reman, and got it in yesterday.
Not sure exactly what its called but, the end of the crank where the flywheel bolts on, and the rear main oil seal sits on, is longer on the new one than the old.
my old one was 7/8" thick for that bit, the new one is 1 1/4" thick.

so a 3/8 " more thick, have a manual tranny, will it just make the clutch tighter, or will the extra length make my bellhousing not fit or what?
this is my first engine teardown and i'm a little fuzzy on how everything in the bellhousing works clearance wise, so if anyone has run into this before, or knows why my cranks arent the same!!, plz respond.

thanks,
LS1 n00b

it sounds like they gave you a truck crank instead of a LS1 crank....

300$$(crank plus bearings) + 120$$ for the core + 25$$ for the freight.

prolly wont get the core back, as I gouged the crap outta my old one when I spud a rod bearing.
But, if this is a truck crank..then...hrm. guess all LS1's are not created equal..
