Default just an idea...

i was thinking someone should make a write up for those of us who are beginners. like manditory equip, procedure, and what equip we'll need once we reach certain times/speeds. i've heard a bunch of different things as far as best track procedure, and what is/isnt needed. i went to the NHRA site and that didnt really help, so i figured i would toss this idea out there. i'm thinking of driving down to the track eventually, and i know i dont have the safty gear i'll need.

it depends if your track checks for those or not.
for 11.49 or faster my track only checks for roll bar, fire jacket, long pants, helment. I think thats it but some tracks are more strict.

Richie,
according to NHRA rules, no, but once you hit 10.99 or quicker with an auto, it must have a trans blanket.

As long as your car is not a convertible
also if you don't have slicks I don't think you have to have the ds loop till 11.49 also. so no slicks just a helment but a drive shaft loop is good cheap insurance anyway. also if your looking for a ds loop check my sig for a guide and prices.

I have not got a 2005 NHRA rule book yet. I will call NHRA tech monday to find out if the book is right or the site is right. I am guessing that the book would overule the site though. I read it off the NHRA website heres what it says

here is the link: http://www.nhra.com/2004/news/November/110102.html

Also they may have decided to not use thiat rule on the shield ,they may have gotten a lot of complaints. But just guessing.

that's correct, but that's for a manual trans car (hence flywheel and clutch wording). An auto doesn't have to conform to the manual rules.
