Default 285-35-18 Tires What Brand to get?

Hey guys,

I recently got a set of Z06 wheels for my Trans Am, all 4 are 18x9.5, I was wondering what tires would be good for a daily driver Trans Am but can also catch some traction at the 1/4 mile track. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Default Dont get run-flats on a low profile tire

Maybe it was obvious to everyone else, but I learned the hard way. Ride is very rough and they are a pain in the *** to get on and off the rims even for pros. Just my opinion.

I second the goodyear gs-d3's very good dry pavement traction rating and one of the best for wet traction.

Just regular 555's for street car. The 555r's are a drag radial and will wear quickly, the 555rII's are a similar soft compund like the drag radials but with a stiffer side wall for road racing. If you are made of money and don't care about how long they last, then I'd put 555r's in the back and 555rII's in the front, or 555rII's all around if you don't care about drag racing. I have that same size regular 555's on all 4 corners of my car and have been very happy with the performance and I got them for about 170 each, but that was a while ago.

GSD3s are where the party's at. For sure one of the best tires around.
