Default Anyone DIY Paint Job the Engine Bay

The motor is still in the car and I don't want to go through moving it for a paint job. I basically have the typical header install scratches on the shock tower area, plus discoloration. It's a white TA. Would I have to go as far as removing the paint? What types of materials would be needed? Is this a project to be left for a shop to handle?

I'm not looking for showroom paint work. Just a clean, scratch free surface.

TIA

It really depends on how deep the scratches are. You could always get some etching primer, and then sand it down. Just get the duplicolor paint that matches, or get some from the local dealer and go to town.
