Just use soap and water, it's the best way to clean chrome wheels.

Every couple of month hit them with some chrome polish and a coat of carnuba wax and they will look like new for a looooooooong time.

I've found Eagle One A2Z Wheel Cleaner works well.
Spray on, wait 1 minute, hose off.

Or for times when I'm going through the automatic car wash (I know shame on me) I spray the wheels with Simple Green. Works like a charm.

And as said, a coat of wax after cleaning helps protect them and keep them cleaner longer.

Yeah soap and water is all you need. Turtle Wax Chrome polish is by far the best and it's the cheapest. Just hit'em with it when needed. Or when you get bored. If you are going to use a spray use Meguier's Hot Rims Cleaner. It's in a pink bottle. But the only time I would use it is when your wheels are extremely dirty.
