What kind of milage can i expect out of a converter?

Default What kind of milage can i expect out of a converter?

How what kind of milage can i expect to get out of a converter? not MPG but the life of the converter, a friend is selling one but it has about 30k on it, is it worth getting? thanks

I'm curious on this as well. I'm sure it varies from tc to tc... I've heard of some lasting 50k but nothing I've been able to confirm.

I'm over 40k on my 4200.....no problems yet.

As long as you buy a quality converter, you should get 100K+ from it. Proper cooling is key though.

Send it back and have it rebuilt. You can look at the fluid and tell if it (and the tranny) is in bad condition. Red fuild is good....orange flakey metalic is bad.

If a converter is built right, it should last longer than the transmission.
