Sorry to hear about your SS, but glad to hear that you may be stepping up to a GTO. Good luck on the purchase.

I thought there were better deals than that on the 04's. Like 22-24K or something???

....and make sure you get that alarm system installed on your new goat. I saw those pics of your SS and feel for you. I'm actually going to looking into getting this alarm for my truck so if anything that post may have prevented it least one more theft.

Thats a damn good price out the door
Actually the GTO comes with 2 factory security devices and the laser cut/electronic keys are a little hard to come by too. Each key is unique to each car so don't let the dealer short change you. You should get 2 pairs and a security card for replacement keys. This helps when someone is calling up the dealer with your VIN and is trying to get a replacement key. Without the code from the card, they are going to have some problems getting a key. Don't keep the security card in your wallett, keep it in a place away from you and the car. The 2 factory security devices also help with lower insurance rates too, but another security system would not hurt either. And, the replacement keys are around $200 to get replaced.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

I saw your pics when you posted them before. That was a nice SS before the crash. I would say get the GTO. If I had to buy another car right now that is what it would be. See what you can get a 05 for. You might be surprised.
