Default Texas Speed and Performance

I returned a Ram clutch for credit and Trevor only charged 5% restocking fee. I will do business with TSP again.

In comparison, I am returining a Comp cam, springs and retainers to one of the site sponsors, who has informed me that he wants a 20% restocking fee because the cam was "custom." Unfortunately, he did not inform me that the cam was a custom grind prior to the purchase. If he insists on the 20% fee, I will have to protest and post the results here.

Hell your lucky that they will even take the cam back. Most companies wont take back custom cams.

The 20 percent is for all returns Steve.
The cam was a custom grind I had made for your car and we do not take back custom cam as nobody does.

I'll repeat: ESP did not tell me that I was purchasing a custom cam or that there would or might be a 20% restocking fee. If you had told me, I would have purchased one of the many available off the shelf cams. It's just that simple.

I am also surprised that you have made this an issue on this board after I intentionally omitted your shop's name.

I guess we wanted to get in front of this because of the way you started the post.
Anyway the cam being custom has nothing to do with the restocking fees that just our policy.

All be it a bias person here...But how many shops / any business for that matter start a conversation/order with by the way all returns have a restocking fee...The whole point of buying something is just that to buy it!!!
Once again Bias here but come on Bickle...I bet Jerry Bickel Race Cars has a restocking fee...(If you can return parts)

I returned to two chassis stabilizers today to JBRC with no charge.

Yes, you are very biased such that your view of this particular topic has to be discounted. Charging a 20% fee on returns means that ESP is guaranteed to make your fee even if the customer doesn't keep the item. This is unreasonable business practice.

The whole point in selling parts is to make a profit...They should make something for the time and effort that went into placing the order...So, Yes a restocking fee does gaurentee the business to make some kind of profit No matter what. What is wrong with that???
"If you go to the doctor and he tells you nothing is wrong DOES he still charge you?" YES....You said it! This is a business....

And I am sorry I will not Banter back and forth on the subject any more. I just feel it is unreasonable to expect something for nothing...Business is Business!

seems you have a habit of returning parts
Buttom line if you think we do a unreasinable business practice then I guess that includes alot of companys that supports this site .
also I talk to jerry bickels shop today and they told me they charge 15 % for all returns
buttom line do a little research before you order parts to save all this crap back and fourth
