Default cam/head swap OR forced induction???

well im looking and im split between two setups, it all depends on power and engine life, what do yall think?

internal:224 cam Thunder racing with new ported heads and perfect tune

Supercharger: split between procharger or Vortech around 7-9 pds of boost

I know the head and cam setup will be cheaper and give me about 375rwhp and ive already got all the good bolt ons...not sure how much rwhp the supercharger will give me, ive heard 40 percent of stock power?

CONCLUSION:which is easier on the engine(lookin for 100,000 miles...i also realize about cam maintence)and how much more will the supercharger give me compared to head and cam???

With the head/cam setup expect ~420 hp and tq numbers

With the stock heads and cam with procharger will be higher around ~480

I have researched this topic and you can run somewhere around 8 psi daily with stock internals. With the supercharger and stock cam your valve springs will last longer than if you had replaced the cam with the TR224. The supercharger is the way to go if you have the cash.

With a heads and cam package depending on other mods and the setup you will be around the 420whp range.

I have been in the same dilema for my GTO and have decided to go Heads/Cam. Eventually I will go ahead and add a Supercharger as well!

If you get the supercharger get the Procharger. I would do the H/C first though cause you can start building up your engine to handle more.

If you can afford a rebuild that will be needed at some point (could be a day could be 3 years) then go FI its bad *** but more expensive then just a kit.

H\C your motor could blow up too, but NA it is alot more tolerant...

If you can afford it. Get a Procharger.

how much is a procharger, which setup sounds better, and what kind of maintence is expected with forced induction like a procharger.

I think the whine of the blower sounds much better.

I change the oil every 6k and check the belt at the same time. So far so good.

is the forced induction less stress on an engine rather than head and cam swap???

I just went through this decision process and elected the head/cam route, don't have the power of FI, but shouldn't have the headaches either.
